Canada has a vibrant nonprofit sector which is critical to the well-being of Canadians. Unfortunately, many nonprofits are facing an increasing number of pressures including increased demand for services, less stable revenues, heightened accountability requirements, and challenges recruiting and retaining staff. While some are struggling with these added challenges, others are adapting and even thriving.
Through surveys and in-depth interviews with top-performing small and medium nonprofits, the Public Policy Forum has compiled this report detailing the creative strategies and approaches that successful organizations are using to strengthen their operations and enhance their ability to deliver on their missions. We believe that these innovative practices can be useful for nonprofits of all sizes and can be supported by funders and others that care about the sector.
